Reception

Hello Everyone!

Well done to all of you working at home for keeping going with your home learning. We have really missed you at school and look forward to seeing you again. There is no timetable to follow this week but I have attached some activity packs to keep you busy. This week, and over the summer, it would be really useful to keep practising your tricky words and make sure you can spell them correctly in simple sentences. It would also be good practice to make sure you can form all your letters correctly using the handwriting sheets and ensure that you can spell your surname correctly. Reading is also really important, using books from home and using the online resources from the weekly timetables. Practise counting and ordering numbers to 20 and make sure you can say one more and one less than these numbers. You can also look back through the timetables and see if there were any activities you didn't get time to complete.

Have a lovely summer if I don't see you before we break up.

Roll and Read games. There are CVC words or 'ar' words for a challenge. Take in turns to roll the dice and pick a word from that row to read. You could cross them out if you are correct and make it more interesting by trying to get a row of four words to win.

VE Day ideas

There is no need to print the reading questions below. Just read them from the screen and decide whether the answer is yes or no. Maybe try a couple each day.

Dear Zoo Home Learning Pack

One of the parents asked for some links to some of the little songs we sing every day at school. Unfortunately, these are little songs I have been singing with my classes for years and I don't have the music anywhere. However, I can share the words below to our 'Days of the week' song and if you said these to your child, I'm sure the tune would come back to them!

Seven days, seven days,

In a week, in a week,

Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday,

Thursday, Friday, Saturday,

Sunday's best, have a rest!

I will also include the words to the prayers that we say every day at school.

Morning prayer

Good morning Jesus,

It's a great new day,

With lots to do

And lots to play.

It's nice to know,

I've a friend like you,

Who cares for me

However I do.

At home or school,

Throughout the day

Stay close to me, please,

Dear Jesus I pray.

Prayer at the end of the day

God our Father, I come to say,

Thank you for your love today.

Thank you for my family

And all the friends you give to me.

Guard me in the dark of night

And in the morning send your light.
