A Catholic School

Our faith is very important to all members of the school community. It permeates all aspects of school life and remains central to our everyday living.

Our Mission Statement says:-

At St George's Catholic Primary School we welcome everyone as a member of God's family.

With Jesus in our hearts,

We pray together,

We work together,

We show respect for each other and the world around us.

We love God, ourselves and one another.

We will strive to ensure that the members of our community are happy and fulfilled in their lives at school.

LITURGY AND COLLECTIVE WORSHIP

At St George’s the children are involved in liturgical experiences both within school and in the wider community.

Fr. Brian, our Parish Priest, celebrates Mass with pupils, staff and parents on a regular basis either in the school hall or classroom. Our pupils not only take part in the various acts of worship but play a vital role in the delivery of these.

RELIGIOUS EDUCATION

The school follows the Archdiocese of Birmingham’s “Learning and Growing as the People of God” Curriculum Strategy.

SACRAMENTAL PREPARATION

Pupils are prepared for the Sacraments of Reconciliation and Holy Communion in Year 3 and in Year 6 for Confirmation. The children complete their Sacramental preparation at St George’s church led by a team of Catechists. In addition to this, the children are well supported through this important time in their faith journey by the school, as Sacramental work is completed in line with our RE Curriculum.
